About Flora
Teacher - Psychologist - Trauma Specialist

My life has been dedicated to children! From being a teacher of learning disabilities, to a school psychologist, and a dedicated volunteer providing counseling, it’s always been about the child.
I’ve been in private practice for over 20 years, and worked in the public schools of Central Florida for over 30 years as an educator and school psychologist. I have experience and training in Play Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, Educational Neuropsychological Practices for Testing, and Somatic Experiencing - a treatment for developmental trauma and anxiety. I’ve worked with children and adolescents with learning problems, anxiety, grief, developmental delays, on the spectrum, and highly gifted.

More About My Practice
My Mission
I help parents stay “tuned in” (embodied) so they can build a stronger bond with their child or young person and “be” more mindful as a parent. It’s not just about the “doing”.
I help children stay grounded (tuned in) so they can manage their emotions and behaviors; especially when they are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and lacking the attention and focus to feel better about themselves.

I’m a teacher at heart; so parents will have my guidance and support throughout the therapeutic process. My mission involves helping the child connect to their bravest and most resilient Self; that self which they were created to be.
My Approach
I use a holistic and somatic approach that builds on the parent and child being “comfortable” in their own body, and in their sensations and emotions so as to create greater resilience. Resilience is all about being able to adjust to challenging situations and be able to get back on track.
Getting Started
I offer a free consult or video conference session to get started. Call or email to schedule one today.
